After an IPL provoked absence, Will's been provoked into a podcast thanks to Slinger Malinga's preference for the greens over the whites. (Green being the colour of money. And whites being the colour of test cricket.) Chris Gayle's also turned his back on his country in order to satisfy his bank manager, so Will looks at why. Plus some stuff about whether Dilshan will actually be Sri Lankan captain at all, and some more about the money-grabbing ICC and their evil associate-killing ways. Spiceworld!

Podcast - Sprinkling Towards The Ashes
Download the Short Midwicket Podcast on iTunes
Australia have named their 13 man squad for the First Test; and there's no Nathan Hauritz. England have warmed up against an Aussie A side, and have danced their way to victory. And it was runs ahoy in the subcontinent, as Chris Gayle and Brendon McCullum filled their boots.
Don't forget to keep your computer switched on because during the Ashes I'm going daily! Starting on Wednesday, there will be a daily dose of all things Short Midwicket. Emails to shortmidwicket@hotmail.co.uk, tweets to @shortmidwicket, and keep reading the blogs at theshortmidwicket.blogspot.com

Last Week's Poll - Who do you want to go to an old-skool disco with?
In honour of the Kingfisher IPL advert, this week's poll was asking which cricketer you would like to go to an old-skool disco with. While there was a late surge for Dan Vettori and David Warner, the person who you elected to go out with was Graeme Swann, with a massive 57% of the vote. Just make sure you have a designated driver with you.
As it is the first county game at Lord's tomorrow (which I will be going to), I am asking what is the most innappropriate thing for me to do at the home of cricket. The poll, as always, is on the sidebar.
